Ten Ways to Prevent Stress:
There are dozens of good programs on stress management. How about preventing it in the first place!
1. Recognize that all stress is not bad for you. A certain amount of stress keeps us energized and productive.
2. Determine if you live on adrenaline. If you do, decide if you want to be that tired, and consider changing your mode of operation. You will have more energy and less stress.
3. Do things you have been putting off - it makes room for productive mental space.
4. Delegate tasks that you don't enjoy, don't seem to have time for, or aren't very good at.
5. Distance yourself emotionally and/or physically from people who do not nurture you, and for whom you feel no calling from God for ministry.
6. Honor your values by keeping your entire behavior in line with what is important to you.
7. Arrange your life so you are spending 80% of your time and energy doing things that use the top 20% of your talents and abilities.
8. Make it a point to do at least 5 things every day for yourself, which you really enjoy.
9. Take time every day to be still before the Lord, meditate on the Word and pray.
10. Work with a Christian coach who can help you achieve balance, peace, and more joy in your life!
