Gary Wood

Almost from the time Gary became a Christian he has been a contributor and a leader. Years ago he and his wife, Alice, left careers and moved to the beautiful lakelands of Muskoka, north of Toronto, Canada to partner in church planting and expanding a Christian camping ministry to families and youth. Entrepreneurial by nature, Gary started a couple of successful businesses to support their “second shift” ministry.

Gary assumed the position of President of the non-profit youth and family camp they had originally set out to help with and he and Alice became full time Administrators of the organization. They worked in this faith ministry for a number of years. This was a concentrated time of personal involvement with over 300 volunteer staff, 30 or so key leaders and all the churches and people they represented. Early in 1998, to honor their personal commitment to raising up and training new leadership to reach the next generation, Gary and Alice encouraged the flow of leadership of the camp to two younger couples.

Gary has actively worked on and consulted with boards for over 26 years. He has held every board position and understands the practical dynamics of small boards. Gary has created and led many Bible studies, seminars, workshops and retreats. He has been a frequent speaker and trainer within this and other organizations. Gary has taught from the scriptures, discipled and spent time with both emerging and seasoned leadership in a diverse number of Christian ministries.

Gary’s varied and extensive people, business, non-profit and depth of life experience gave the background to continue to work with Christian leaders, owners and executives in the rapidly expanding field of personal Coaching. 

Gary maintains a daily quiet time with the Lord. He and Alice have had the joy of seeing their children receive the Lord. For a large part of their Christian life Gary and Alice were very involved in and enjoyed fellowship among Brethren assemblies. More recently they attend a Baptist fellowship in a new location.

Gary and Alice have two grown children, son Tim and his wife Jenn, daughter Sandi and fiance Seth.
